Chief Environmental Conservation Police Officer

As a Chief Environmental Conservation Officer, you would head a regional enforcement program or special unit and would direct and supervise the activities of environmental law enforcement personnel in order to provide law enforcement services meeting local needs consistent with departmental goals and policies. You would coordinate investigative activities with other divisions within DEC; act as liaison with local law enforcement agencies; represent the department in meetings with local officials, agencies, and groups; prepare operational plans; and monitor all expenses.

Salary Range:
From $92656 to $111370 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Minimum qualifications for provisional appointment:
You must be a qualified employee of the NYS DEC and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55b/55c service as a Supervising Environmental Conservation Officer or Environmental Conservation Investigator 2. One year of service as a Supervising Environmental Conservation Officer or Environmental Conservation Investigator 2. There is currently no eligible list for this position, therefore, if no more than three qualified individuals are interested, it may be possible to make a permanent appointment via non-competitive promotion.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
